Modern Salon Honors Federico Beauty Institute for its 'Excellence in Education'
Modern Salon acknowledges good beauty schools to inspire other people to greatness in education. Federico Beauty Institute was awarded top honors in the advanced education and alumni program category by the magazine this year, the accolade being given for its "Excellence in Education."
The Federico Beauty Institute was awarded the Excellence in Education award from Modern Salon, for their specialty in advanced education. By inviting successful guest experts to speak, including high quality lessons in their curriculum, and allowing students to study abroad, the Federico Beauty Institute constantly ensures the education they provide is at the top of the field.
That's high praise indeed. Adam Federico likes it because "it lets us know that we're doing our job and we're doing it well."
The accelerated education program is run by Adam Federico. He is in charge of the AJF Salon and the Creative Director at the Federico Beauty Institute. Every two months he extends an invitation to students to learn advanced cutting and coloring from him and his staff at AJF Salon in downtown Sacramento. Working in small groups, cosmetology students receive comprehensive classes on current styling methods and advanced formulations.
The students get a whole new perspective on things. They're getting hands-on experience in the real world. They see their goal is within reach after a few steps outside the school. Adam noted: "That gives them encouragement and motivation."
Students of Esthetics can also choose to participate in advanced classes. Students also have the option of taking the microdermabrasion training certification course, where they learn the art of removing fine lines, age spots, and acne scars with a microdermabrasion machine.
While there has been significant appreciation and praise to date for the Federico Beauty Institute with respect to its courses for advanced pupils and alumni, the school has plans to enrich its curriculum still more. Right now the school is adding an additional 20,000 sq. feet. An advanced education room with the capacity for up to 16 students is part of the expansion. That addition will allow the Institute to offer sessions for advanced students weekly rather than every two months.
Some of the most celebrated beauticians in the world also share their expertise with pupils and alumni at the Federico Beauty Institute. The institute invites guest artists to teach advanced and innovative techniques. Many past and present students were asked to attend the annual Salon Symposium this September, watching demonstrations put on by experts such as Nick Arrojo and Gerard Scarpaci from ARROJO Hair, and even master colorist Gerd Hoher. Ronnie Stam, Jami Gierloff and Brenton Lee have been among the renowned beauticians who have shared their expertise with students at the Institute in 2011.
Adam says that "we are constantly seeking out the best talent that will be best utilized by our students."
Students at the Federico Beauty Institute have the chance to study with instructors from around the world. They even pioneered a program to Belgium, France, and Italy in 2011. In addition to becoming more informed about current trends and styling methods from world-renowned teachers, they also got to tour the continent.
