Federico Beauty Institute Announces a New Cosmetology Curriculum!
It is critical to stay abreast of the latest hairstyles, makeup and skin services that are in vogue in an industry where clients always seek out the next big trend. Utilizing a new cosmetology curriculum that concentrates on getting graduates ready for successful careers, Federico is helping students do precisely that.
When a revised version of Pivot Point International's Designer's Approach program was introduced, Federico Beauty Institute began the process of modifying their curriculum. Federico has the well known Pivot Point curriculum at the heart of the cosmetology program, but they also offer some innovative curriculum features of their own.
“This provided an amazing opportunity for us to make some great changes to our curriculum. We emphasized services that are currently used in the salons and did not concentrate as much on techniques that are largely unpopular now," stated Jeremy Federico who is the President of Federico Beauty Institute.
"Not only do we teach students cuts and coloring techniques, we also instruct our students on the techniques of blow drying, styling and finishing. When they can provide a customer with a perfect blow dry and style, they are ensuring that their customers leave the salon feeling pretty," stated Pam Knight, Director of Education.
The Federico Beauty Institute has many new opportunities for students to receive advanced education with the new curriculum. Some of the advanced opportunities that students will have access to include classes in hair cutting and coloring courses. The program will soon be extended to include hair extension and editorial styling classes. Students enrolled in the editorial styling class will be schooled in doing camera-ready work and can start compiling their portfolio.
Federico has several study abroad opportunities where students will be able to further their skills through advanced training abroad. Working with Pivot Point International, Federico students have the opportunity to visit a foreign country for approximately one week, during which time they tour the city and attend classes at one of the international Pivot Point locations.
