Federico Beauty Institute Helps a Student Get to a Top 200 Salon!

The schooling and setting at Federico Beauty Institute provides students with the opportunity to learn in a hands-on, motivating atmosphere. Students graduating from Federico Beauty Institute frequently get work in prestigious salons and spas where they're using all of their skills and training every day. After graduating in December of 2009, Tabitha Claiborne is now employed with one of the salons chosen in Salon Today Magazine's Top 200 list.

When Tabitha attended FBI, she made the most of the opportunities that were available to her through the school. She finished advanced cutting and color training, honing these abilities in the practical setting of her externship at a salon. Through FBI, Tabitha had the opportunity to be involved in advanced education classes in San Francisco, to help out at hair shows, and take classes with teachers who used to work at Vidal Sassoon. This thorough training and availability to leaders in the industry offered Tabitha the crucial schooling she required to be a success in the beauty industry and to get a job as a stylist at the Misbehavin Spa and Salon in Walla Walla, Washington.

Salon Today Magazine included Misbehavin Spa & Salon on its recent list of Top 200 US Salons. Salon Today Magazine is a publication that ranks salons and spas all over the country, saluting salon expansion and best business techniques. Being on the list of the top 200 is a coveted award in this business, and Tabitha got a job at one of the salons on this list a mere month following her graduation. She gives kudos to FBI for providing her with the experience she required to get the job and do well in the advanced training program that she's taking part in now at the salon.

"The salon instructor says I'm improving fastest among all the associates," said Tabitha.

Tabitha was able to jump into her career with the help of her intensive education. In addition, she had an edge in reaching her objective with the help of Federico's career services and board exam prep. Even though Tabitha says that the state board exam is difficult, she honestly believes that FBI's schooling gave her an advantage, allowing her to pass it on her first attempt.

"I was totally, 100% ready for every procedure and had no doubts whatsoever that I was doing what was right." She stated that she had passed and she was grateful to Federico for emphasizing the requirements for the state board during the length of the course.

In addition, she is thankful for the career services they offer. FBI staff assisted her in preparing her resume as well as all of the documentation for the advanced education training she got while she was going to school there. They also helped her get ready for interviews, which eased some of her fears about looking for a job.

Tabitha explains it like this, "It was a great feeling to be able to walk into an interview with documentation of all the advanced training I had already received during my training at Federico."

Federico Beauty Institute is honored by the devotion and eagerness Tabitha has shown throughout her schooling and the beginning of her career. Tabitha feels a lot of gratitude for all the opportunities FBI offered.

"In my experience, this completed altered my life. I am very grateful for the chance at an advanced education that has provided me with the know-how and self-confidence to enter rewarding professional employment,” said Tabitha. “I feel so lucky that I could successfully finish my training at an institution that I think of as the ultimate in education."
